Kids Fishing Competition - ANZAC Weekend

A fishing competition with a TWIST. The LONGEST and AVERAGE length fish gets the prize!

Entry is FREE

Everyone who enters gets a FREE ICE CREAM

  1. Sign up in the link below
  2. Grab your registration pack from the Hot Water Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park Reception on the eveing of the 23rd April or all day on the 24th April - Competition starts at 3pm on Saturday 24th April.
  3. Catch a fish – any species
  4. Measure your fish with the measurer provided from the tip of the nose to the “V” of the tail. Take a photo at the same time.
  5. Send the following to email: marketing@hotwaterbeachtop10.co.nz OR direct message to our Facebook Page:
    1. Photo
    2. Childs Name
    3. Fish length
  6. You can only submit 3 fish photos per child of any species – so choose your best 3.
  7. All fish must be caught within the 24hrs of 3pm Saturday 24th April – 3pm Sunday 25th April and their photo taken and sent to us. No photos of fish will be accepted after 3pm Sunday 25th April.
  8. We find the longest and average length fish and the 3 longest fish and the 3 closest fish to the average wins the prizes - plus lots of spot prizes!

Catch & Release

Catch & Release is encouraged. No need to bring in the fish as you will already have sent us a photo with the ruler against it.

Under-size Fish

If you catch an under-size fish just make sure you measure it and take a photo as quickly as possible so that you can release it again. 

Land & Boat

You can fish on land or from a boat. Please be aware that we have a Marine Reserve at the western end of Hahei – this includes Cathedral Cove. Fishing in the reserve is strictly prohibited.

5pm, Sunday 25th April at the Main Facilities Block
